Romantic Adventure Getaway’s offers some truly amazing themed mini resort suites in Hillsboro, Ohio, and Mount Vernon, Ohio. It’s like half resort, half escape room. They offer a wide range of themed options, and we had the chance to stay at their Hillsboro location, just an hour and a half away from Columbus. Staying at such a unique experience that was so close to us was so refreshing. We didn’t need to book flights or pack for a few-day trip, it was so simple!
When we arrived and opened up the door to our suite, we were immediately stunned by how amazingly the room was decorated. Our names were on the bed, written with rose petals, so romantic and such a cute detail! As soon as we opened the door, romantic music started playing, transporting us to our Night in Paris.
We followed the rose petals, which led us to our first clue. This isn’t a regular night in a hotel; this is a whole EXPERIENCE. We spent the night having fun following the clues, that led us to some amazing surprises! There were so many hidden tunnels and rooms that just kept surprising us! There was even a hidden slide! We worked together to unlock new rooms in our suite throughout the night, which was so much fun!
They had us do some really unique experiences throughout our journey solving clues, like getting to dress up in Beauty and the Beast costumes, using the massage chairs, learning burlesque, and even body painting! I’m leaving out so many fun surprises because I don’t want to give too many spoilers, but trust me, this was such an amazing experience to share with your partner! We spent the night laughing and truly having so much fun discovering each new room together!
Then after you complete your experience, you can relax in the jetted tub, or on the super comfy giant circle bed!
I cannot express enough how fun this was. We weren’t really sure what to expect, and it was our first time doing an escape room type thing together but once we walked through the door to our suite, we knew this would be amazing. We had no idea what would come next, and our suite seriously kept surprising us with new rooms and secret tunnels over and over again.
This is literally the perfect romantic mini getaway for any couple (as long as you’re both able to crawl through small spaces, slide down slides, etc), whether it’s for a birthday, anniversary, or just to spend some time together and reconnect, you won’t regret staying here! I think it would bring any couple closer together and create a fun escape from the everyday routine.
Tips for staying with Romantic Adventure Getaways
- Get there at check-in! Or as close to check-in as you can. Things are on timers, and this helps the whole process go a bit smoother, plus you’ll be prompted to take a dinner break partway through the adventure. It’s definitely an all evening event, so you’ll want plenty of time to experience it without getting tired!
- If you get stuck on any clues, don’t worry! You can use your phone to scan the QR codes for extra hints!
- Take this as a chance to unplug and be fully immersed in the experience with your partner!
- Pack light! You really won’t need to pack much for this stay! All you’ll need is some comfy clothes and your toiletries!
