Porter Airlines Boarding Process
I downloaded the Porter Airlines app and checked in on my phone before my flight. I only brought a personal item with me, which is included in the ticket price. My ticket did not include an electronic boarding pass, so when I got to the airport about 2 hours before my flight, I visited the check-in agent to pick up my boarding pass and then headed through security and found my gate.
When it came time to board the plane, there were no delays. They boarded the plane back to front which was efficient and something I hadn’t seen done before. It was a great seamless experience and it was great being able to walk straight to your seat and not have to wait for people in the front part of the plane to put their stuff away or trying to dodge accidentally hitting people while walking down the crowded aisle.
Porter Airlines only uses airplanes with no middle seats, which makes the experience even more comfortable! After everyone was boarded, the flight took off on time.
Porter Airlines Flight Experience
The flight attendants were super friendly. Porter Airlines offers complimentary wine, beer, juice, soft drinks, coffee, and tea. They also offered snacks by Canadian brands like Hardbite chips, Three Farmers, and Cookie It Up. This was a great touch. The snacks and drinks were great and they also offered free Wi-Fi!
Tips for Flying with Porter Airlines
Understand their baggage policy – If you purchase the cheapest Basic option, your ticket only includes a free personal item, not a full sized carry on. Personal items are able to fit under the seat infront of you. According to Porter Airlines website it must not exceed 33 x 43 x 16 cm or (13 x 17 x 6 in).
This is the bag I used. I use it for almost all of my flights, and I’ve never had an issue using it as my personal item! I’m able to fit a weeks worth of stuff in it! I got it from Amazon and it comes in so many different colours! I highly recommend it!
Download the Porter Airlines app – For seamless check in and flight info, having the Porter Airlines app is very helpful
Try the complimentary snacks and drinks – Porter Airlines offers a great selection of drinks and Canadian based snack brands. I highly recommend trying a brand you already love or finding a new favourite!
Would I fly with Porter Airlines again?
Overall I really enjoyed flying with Porter Airlines and I’m so excited for the next time I have a chance to fly with them! I think they’ve made great moves making flying economy more comfortable and is definitely ahead of the game for affordable flights. I feel like I got a better value than I would’ve with any other airline. Porter Airlines is always adding new destinations to their roster so I hope to be able to fly with them again soon!
